Compost Working Group Meeting
The Compost Working Group ismade up of CFPAC members and community advisers, has held regular meetings to develop a composting ordinance framework for the City of Chicago. The working group is developing effective compost policy recommendations to present to the city and is reporting directly to Mike Simmons, Policy Director. We have currently been exploring introducing a new state statute or permit by right into state legislation to remove prohibitive barriers for mid-size, community based composting operations.
